Building a Safe Place for Horses and Humans.
Before the programs of Unbridled Wild Connections can begin, the groundwork has to be laid—literally. Over the past several months, we’ve been working to prepare our property to be mustang-safe and participant-ready, ensuring that the space reflects both safety and welcome.

This preparation has included strengthening fencing, clearing and improving pastures, and planning safe training areas where both horses and humans can thrive. Each detail matters. A mustang who has only ever known the open range needs secure fencing to feel contained but not confined. Participants who step onto the ranch for the first time need to sense that this is a place built with care, intention, and safety in mind.

Today, our herd includes two mustangs and two domestics—each with their own story, temperament, and gifts to share. Every horse, whether wild-born or domestic, will play a role in our programs. The mustangs bring with them the wisdom of survival and the lessons of trust earned, while our domestics offer steadiness and familiarity. Together, they create a balanced herd that reflects the diverse paths of healing we hope to inspire in our participants. And as we grow, we plan to welcome more mustangs into this space, continuing to give new life to horses while enriching the lives of the people who work alongside them.
We’ve also been thoughtful about creating spaces for connection—quiet corners for reflection, open areas for liberty work, and pathways that invite walking side by side with a horse. These aren’t just facilities; they are environments designed to support healing.
This work is about more than infrastructure. It’s about building the physical foundation of a vision—one where resilience, trust, and connection can flourish. A well-prepared ranch means the mustangs can begin their journey from wild to willing, and participants can step into an environment where growth feels possible.

Every new post driven into the ground, every pasture gate secured, and every adjustment made is one more step toward welcoming our first official participants. It’s a process of steady progress, built not overnight but piece by piece, with patience and care.
We’re excited to continue sharing updates as this space transforms into the heart of Unbridled Wild Connections. Each improvement brings us closer to the moment when horses and humans alike can experience what it means to rebuild trust, discover confidence, and reconnect in freedom.
If you’d like to support these preparations—through donations, materials, or volunteering—we’d love to connect with you.
